Film Indarella
1h 40mins, Germany

“Indarella ” is a long-term observation project by filmmaker and artist Ralf Schmerberg, compiled over the course of fiveyears and 216 days of shooting. Schmerberg embarked on an intuitive journey with the aim to portray the beautiful and the poetic Indian subcontinent. The result is a kaleidoscopic tale, a symphony of a land that draws the spectator into a delirious slipstream with its visual and auditory opulence. The story spins from day to night for three days, unveiling India’s human zeitgeist through the filmmaker’s eyes. Without conventional narration, INDARELLA is an experimental visual poem created through juxtaposition of original sounds, eclectic compositions, and exuberant imagery. It is an intimate diary and a universal journey through a spectrum of human stories, exploring the secular and religious, the festive and mundane, the traditional and the modern.
